Aria, Emily, Spencer, Hanna and Alison have been best friends since the third grade. They go everywhere together, thinking no-one can come between them. If anyone is the ringleader of the group it is Alison, and the other girls cannot help but confide all their secrets to her. One night, during a sleepover, Alison goes missing. Her body is never found. The girls mourn her death but move apart after time, assuming their secrets have disappeared with Alison too. Three years later and Aria is having an affair with her teacher; Emily is questioning her sexuality; Hanna is a thief; and Spencer is flirting with her sister's fiance. They all think their secrets are safe, until they starting receiving messages from the mysterious A - who knows exactly what they are all up to, and is threatening to spill the beans ...

Well I have to admit that I saw the Tv series before reading the book but I also have to say that I love both, they are so addicting ,but they have their diferences, for example the girl's looking it's a little bit diferent and there are some stories and points in the girls relationship with Alison that for me in some cases are better in the Tv series.

Anyway what I really love about this books is the suspense, action and obvious manipulation that's around Alison's characther. This character not only has a incredible manipulation skill but a incredible way of making you love her and hate her at the same time.

The main point in this book it's basically show the reader how Alison whats kinda like a drug for the girls, the girl share all their secrets with Ali, but her in the end was an stranger, they didn't know nothing about her even being best friends. That's why you are the whole book wondering who is really Alison and why does she lie all the time.

Alison dissapears and the girls stopped being friends, Alison seems the only link between them and know that she's gone they start making their own new lifes thinking that with Alison's abduction all their secrets are buried, what it's interesting at this point it's how the author mess up with you making each chapter for one girl point of view, I like that.

When Alison's body shows up it's something that you expect but what you don't expect is the way that everybody's react, what you really don't expect it's that the girls start coming along together again because of some strange messages from a creepy someone that knows everything about their, just like Ali used to.

For short, an awesome book that you have to read if you love young adult and mistery, it's highly recomendable and totally a worth of reading. I will defintly continue the saga and as well the Tv serie which it's as I said a little bit other story.
