Review: Clockwork Angel
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra ClareMy rating: 5 of 5 starsWhen sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.
Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.
Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all
I read this one before the Mortal Instruments and I honestly prefer this one better. Maybe because I just like the whole Steampunk style of this book and I love 19th Century specially in London, it makes for me more realistic the plot and I don't know all the fantasy stuff looks more real in this ambiance.
I love Will and I prefer Tessa over Clary.Anyway let's see how things go in the two sagas, I just hope that this long saga won't go down like other series.
The scenarios in this book are amazing, with a british touch of Jack the Ripper I just love how Cassandra always developes the plot in a perfect place. Every things seems to fit, the typical London mist, the victorian parties for me this is a better era for paranormal.
Jem is also a interesting character for me,totally diferent from what we are used to (annoying Simon) I think it will be also really interesting to know his story better. I absolutly adore the relationship between Jem and Will, both of them seem to have interest in Tessa
For short If you loved the Mortal Instruments you will love this, even if I first read this one by mistake.

Review: Romeo and Juliet
5 out of 5 Stars
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written early in the career of playwright William Shakespeare about two young "star-cross'd lovers" whose deaths ultimately unite their feuding families.
It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet and Macbeth, is one of his most frequently performed plays. Today, the title characters are regarded as archetypal young lovers

This is one of most famous classic book in literature. I shouldn't explain why it is a highly recommendable read but I will tell you my point of view and some stuff that surprised me or that I found interesting.

The first thing that I didn't expect was the fast plot, the whole story goes on in only 4 days, little time for me. Or at least for a love story where the lovers get laid, married and died together by its passion. Maybe this is the master point of the play, you can actually imagine all those things happen in front of you even if you don't actually see the play.
You can see a lot of similarities between this book and nowadays normal young adult books, for example some of the phrases of Romeo and how he describes his love for Juliet and they way he acts are quite similar to the way some of our favorites guys in YA books act, I really find so many similarities between Edward Cullen (Twilight) and Romeo, and you should have guess Romeo and Juliet it's kinda annoying at some points if you are not a natural romantic.
There a lot of things that sometimes are a little bit too twisted with all of the family hatred and that kind of problems. I would defintly recommend to read this book not only because it a obligated reading but because it's a way I think to understand better modern literature.

The Lonely Hearts Club
The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Love is all you need...or is it? Penny's about to find out in this wonderful debut. Penny is sick of boys and sick of dating. So she vows - no more. It's a personal choice...and, of course, soon everyone wants to know about it. And a few other girls are inspired. A movement is born; The Lonely Hearts Club (named after the band from Sgt. Pepper). Penny is suddenly known for her nondating ways...which is too bad, because there's this certain boy she can't help but like.
For those who have had (I think almost everyone) the heart broken once by an idiot this book is perfect. Maybe it's a little bit predictable but you will have lots of fun.
After the Blue Prince of Penny Lane broke her heart, she will promise herself that she will never ever care about guys anymore so she decide to create a new and original club,The Lonely Hearts Club. This club is integrated only by girls who want to stop caring about guys and want to start a new way of life, caring about friends, being more proud of herself.
The club was going on well until parents and even teachers get involve, the guys are complaining about this club and some girls want to restart dating guys. What will Penny do to save her club?
In this book the are a lot of references of The Beatles which I think (as a little Beatle fan) it's great because you can read the book while you play the songs on your ipod.
I love this book because it's funny, full of entertaiment, cool and has a lot of positive energy. The characters are great and it has a fast pace. Also remarks the moral that got the book:
"Guys are important but so do you and your friends, keep the balance in your life"

Twilight
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love this book so much and I know some people will complaing because this isn't a master piece, I agree but I didn't become a Twihard because I think it is a must read book, I just love it because I like the plot and the new focus of the vampires life style.
What I mainly love of this book is the misteryous character Edward, you only know what you know from him from Bella's point of view, but she's in love with him so for her he is just perfect. He seems to hate himself at the begining, anyway later on you can see that he awesomely has also a funny point. (Famous crooked smile, fangirls gotta love him)
You don't really know where this love relationship will take them but as you can read Bella's mind is a little bit messed up.
Them we have Carlise and Charlie to characters that I love because each one is the alter ego of the other, Vampire daddy and Human daddy working together!!! It's not like that but I like their short conversations.

Divergent
Divergent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
At first I didn't expect too much of this book, all the people say this book is like the Hunger Games, believe when I say you that this book and The Hunger Games have nothing in common but the kind of theme that they treat, dystopia.
When I was reading the first chapter I was a little confused, I was surprise by the way the author deals with some problems that all dystopian books have such as the laws or the way the goverment works, even more important, the way that the people of the world that she have created think.
One thing that I really love from this book are the characters, my favorite one with no doubt it's Four, an amazing character that it's by far better than Gale from the Hunger Games, his personality and developed throught all the plot.
Tris is as well an awesome female star but I will wait to the next book to finally decide if is as worth as Katniss like a female leader.
In short if you haven't read this book I don't what are you waiting for, You will love it from the beggining to the end. You would not start reading this book with preconded ideas just enjoy and don't be surprised if you finish this book in only 2 days.
PD: I'm in love with Tris and Four romance,it's just amazing and so cute what I think it's a goo point for this book,I'm such a romantic I can't stand action books without a bit of love
